Chinese Guangxi Acrobatic Troupe Premieres in Yangon

Xinhua, 7 June 2000. The Guangxi Acrobatic Troupe of China staged its first
performance at the National Theater here Wednesday evening.

They performed various acrobatic programs featuring Chinese national
characteristics. These included traditional Chinese lion dance, pole climbing,
variety show or vaudeville, flying trapeze on shaky bridge, acrobatic on a 
bamboo
pole, foot juggling with real man, magic or conjuring, hu-la rings, oral 
stunts or
mimicry, trick-cycling skating and short comic performance.

The troupe's brilliant programs enabled the audiences to feast their eyes, 
winning
a wave of applause from them.

Watching the show were Chinese ambassador Liang Dong, Myanmar Culture
Minister U Win Sein, Deputy Culture Minister U Soe Nyunt and other government
officials as well as foreign diplomats, Myanmar-Chinese and others, 
totaling more
than 1,500.

Before the performance in Yangon, the Chinese Guangxi acrobatic troupe had 
staged
three shows in Mandalay, Myanmar's second largest city.

The Chinese acrobatic troupe's performance in Myanmar constitutes China's 
part of a series of
activities in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of 
diplomatic relations between the
two countries.

The troupe will give three performances in Yangon.
