New Delhi: July 7: All Burma students League today demanded immediate
release of all political leaders held captive by the military rulers in
Burma and resumption of talks with the Committee Representing for
People's Parliament.

ABSL, the student's body, which held a demonstration here, said
the military rule in the country should enter into a political dialogue
with the CRPP. The demonstrators criticised the military junta in Burma,
which the alleged came to power by crushing the students movement and
the general sentiments of the people, who longed for restoration of
democracy.

Addressing the gathering, the ABSL president Mr Kyaw Than, said "the
organisation was deeply concerned about countries like India, Srilanka
and Bangladesh, who are ready to hold a ministerial meeting in the
country in 2001, despite the long track record of violations human
rights by the military regime. (PTI)
