The ruling Swedish Social Democratic Party has said that Burmese junta
has shown its undemocratic and grim face once again towards Aung San Suu
Kyi by stopping her and other supporters in the countryside.

In a statement made by Mr. Urban Ahlin, deputy Secretary General of the
party, it had said that Aung San Suu Kyi is clearly seen as a threat to
the Burmese junta and is not allowed to travel freely. "This harassment
against a woman, a Nobel Laureate and a freedom fighter has to stop",
said the statement issued at Stockholm on August 30.

It further said that the way in which the junta governs the country is
not only a violation of international norms, it is also a violation of
everything that human dignity and human responsibility stands for.
