India to Extend 15 Mln U.S. dollar Credit Line to Myanmar


Xinhua, New Delhi, 10 November 2000.India will extend a credit
line of 15 million U.S. dollars to Myanmar for purchase of its
goods, it was announced here on Friday.

An agreement on this will be signed during the week-long visit
to India by General Maung Aye, vice chairman of the State
Peace and Development Council and the number two in the
military-ruled government in Myanmar, the Press Trust of India
(PTI) reported.

Maung would hold wide-ranging discussions with Indian President
K.R. Narayanan, Vice President Krishan Kant and Prime Minister
Atal Bihari Vajpayee on regional and international issues of mutual
concern, the PTI quoted a senior official with India's External Affairs
Ministry as saying.

Maung is expected to arrive here on November 17.
