       Capacity building training for Chin women in Indian border

A three-day training on ?Women Rights, Leadership and Capacity Building?
is being organized by the exiled Chin women organization at Aizawl in
Mizoram State, which borders with Burma. The training, which started
yesterday, was organized by the Chin Women?s Organization (Central). The
participants are the Chin women activists belonging to different Chin
women organizations, coming from various parts of Mizoram State.

?The training is aimed to equip the Chin women activists with skills and
knowledge with regard to women rights, and leadership capacities?, said
the president of Chin Women?s Organization (Central), which is
headquartered in the capital of Mizoram State. About 25 women activists
who are residing in various parts of India are participating in the
training, which will be ended tomorrow. The topics of the training vary
from women and political participation, women rights as human rights,
women movements to leadership skills. The Chin Women?s Organization
(Central) was formed with the Chin women activists who are taking
shelter in various parts of India to encourage Chin women participate
actively in the decision-making bodies of their society.
