Amyotha Hluttaw 10 February, 2015: No waste of budget in Nay Pyi Taw development plan, says council member

Description:

"Nay Pyi Taw, 10 Feb — Dr Myat Nyana Soe, MP of Yangon Region constituency 4, asked whether the government has a pragmatic and sound plan with systematic use of budget for Nay Pyi Taw development programmes as budget allocation for the new capital is higher than any other major cities of the country. The previous administration founded it and regarded as the capital, as per 2008 Constitution. U Kan Chun, member of Nay Pyi Taw Council, said there is no waste of budget for the capital with the Town Plan to meet international standards to become a clean and tidy ?green city? after the capital has been developed with sustainable infrastructural sectors to promote social lives of residents, business and human resources. Replying to the question of U Paw Htan Tai, MP of Chin State about preparations of Union Election Commission for 2015 general elections, a member of the electoral body said transparent advance voting system has been stipulated in electoral bylaws for respective Hluttaws. He also said advance voting system will be explained in the election management courses. Under the electoral law the eligible voters, except those who have cast advance vote, will have to cast votes at poll station in person, and no one is allowed on behalf of them. He assured that UEC has adopted a 12- point five-year strategic plan from 2014 to 2018, including preparations for holding 2015 general elections successfully. Speaker of Pyithu Hluttaw decided question and answers of this issue will be described in Myanmar Gazette in accordance with Amyotha Hluttaw Rules 122."
