Whereas it is expedient to make legislative provision for the protection
of inventions and designs ;

It is hereby enacted as follows :—
Preliminary.
1. (/) This Act may be called the Burma Patents and Designs Act. Short title
_ and ci mmencemcnt.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the President of the Union
may, by notification, direct.
