I commend Giesecke+Devrient for taking this principled stand in response to ongoing crimes against humanity including the murder of peaceful civilians perpetrated by the illegitimate military junta. The people of Myanmar thank you for your leadership. I believe that actions such as this will deal a significant economic blow to the illegitimate military junta, and in doing so, will bring us one step closer to the junta’s inevitable collapse. I also hope that the action taken by Giesecke+Devrient yesterday will create a ripple effect, encouraging more companies to take a similarly principled stand in support of the restoration of our people’s democratic rights and fundamental freedoms.
